“In every community, there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart, there is the power to do it.”
Who We Are
RJ’s Way Unspoken was founded by Romaine S. Stephens who birthed this vision after suffering an incredible loss. This program is to commemorate the passing of her son, Rodney Jimmy Lee Anderson, who transitioned on October 11, 2021. While grappling with her own ways of coping, Mrs. Stephens channeled her grief into a mission to help others. This program honors Rodney’s memory and aims to provide support to young Black men and their families facing challenges like mental health issues, academic struggles, suicidal thoughts, and substance abuse.
What We Do
We are giving a voice to the unspoken struggles that our youth and their guardians are facing daily. Our mission is to let our community know that it is okay, to not be okay. Our community is here to listen, without judgment. This is your safe space to share anything on your mind – worries, dreams, hopes, or just how you’re feeling today. We believe in building healthy coping skills and strong communication together. Because let’s face it, life can be tough. But you don’t have to go through it alone. We’re your village, here to support you on your journey!
if you want to go quickly, go alone | if you want to go far, go together.

From the Heart
of a Mother
It will be the little things that you will remember, the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter. And although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memories of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again.
There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart.
